Tangible Kingdom Stories

On Sunday, August 9 we kicked off our Tangible Kingdom series centered in Jesus' famous, fascinating Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7). And we decided to do something upside down than what most people come to expect from church. Rather than collect money from people, we actually gave money out ($10 to anyone who wanted to participate) and challenged people with the opportunity to spend that money in a way that demonstrates Jesus' tangible kingdom to someone else.

Tell us about how you used the $10 to offer God's blessing to another person.

Worship Location Change

Quick heads up...Soma worship tonight is NOT at West Salem Park due to rain. Instead we'll meet at the Kingwood gym (1125 Elm St.) at 6:00 p.m. and "pretend" to be outside.

We'll still have a communion meal and worship.

This has been a public service announcement.

This Sunday at the Park

Just a heads up...

This Sunday (July 12) we'll be having our weekly worship gathering at West Salem Park (click here for a map). The time is the same - 6:00 p.m. - but this week we'll have a taco/communion meal to kick things off.

Remember to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets.

continuing the series...

Thanks to everyone for making Sunday night's ice cream feast run so smoothly (no pun intended). Thanks especially to Daryl and Carol...hey, your names rhyme!

This coming Sunday...we'll continue the I Like Jesus, But Not the Church series asking the question: Is the church dominated my males and oppressive to females?

In the meantime...be wary of Soma soccer. Lot's of fun, but increasingly very dangerous (Julie, my wife, became another victim last night of the soccer injury bug). Not sure if we can count Kelly's broken finger from the night before, but my vote is yes.

Peace,
Dwayne
